With access to treatment, HIV has become a lifelong chronic condition for nearly 38 million people worldwide. A new study has gathered neuroimaging scans from HIV-positive individuals across five continents to understand how infection changes the brain.

Smartphone-based device to detect silent heart attacks receives funding

For too many people, a heart attack is not diagnosed quickly enough, or, in the case of silent heart attacks, even mistaken for indigestion. As a result, researchers are developing a diagnosis and monitoring tool to help determine if patients are experiencing a heart event.
