Health screenings, more to be at 2019 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

The Keck Medicine of USC Health Pavilion will return to the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, held this weekend on the University Park Campus. The pavilion will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

New research could prevent jaw damage in cancer patients

USC researchers and collaborators report a breakthrough to prevent damage to the jaw, a side effect suffered by some people undergoing treatment for cancer or osteoporosis. The newly published research is an important step toward a cure for osteonecrosis of the jaw, a rare side effect caused by drugs commonly used to combat bone loss.

Violence prevention specialist aims to cultivate community of respect

USC Student Health's new violence prevention specialist has always been interested in helping others and hopes to use her background to create a community of respect and support peer-to-peer education on campus.

Study: Cancer drug shortages result in almost no treatment changes

For the vast majority of cancer drugs experiencing shortages over a seven-year period, a new USC research study found no statistically significant effect of shortages on chemotherapy treatment.
