Sometimes it feels like life is piling on the bad news, so several Keck Medicine of USC clinicians offer tips to manage the stress of new traumatic events during the pandemic. Meanwhile, researchers have found that working-age Hispanics are at the highest risk of dying from COVID-19. And good news for school reopening: rapid tests could detect most contagious kids.

Giving people with autism a voice in future research

For too long, too few autistic people have had a say in how autism research is designed, developed and disseminated. A new USC-coordinated project looks to upend that disparity by exploring ways of better responding to this diverse community in the future.

Zlokovic among faculty named University Professors in 2021

Berislav Zlokovic was one of three USC faculty members to be appointed as University Professors, USC Provost Charles F. Zukoski announced in an April 5 memo. The director of the Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute has made major contributions to our understanding of the role of the blood-brain barrier in the pathogenesis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and stroke.

USC Roski Eye Institute launches a new Visual Electrophysiology Unit

The USC Roski Eye Institute is opening its new Visual Electrophysiology Unit, which will allow ophthalmologists to refer their patients for testing on state-of-the-art equipment for inherited retinal diseases, optic nerve diseases and a variety of other eye conditions.
