Caryn Lerman, who joined the Keck School of Medicine of USC in March, was celebrated Sept. 11 on the Health Sciences Campus, where she was formally installed as the H. Leslie and Elaine S. Hoffman Cancer Research Chair and as director of the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.

A variety of projects led by faculty, staff and students from Health Sciences Campus schools and programs were awarded USC Good Neighbors Grants for 2019–20, helping fund a range of innovative community programs. More than 900 local efforts have been supported through Good Neighbors over the past 25 years, thanks to donations totaling more than $25 million from USC faculty, staff and friends.

USC scientist and colleagues identify new species of giant flying reptile

A USC scientist and colleagues have identified a new species of giant flying reptile that once soared over what is now North America, calling it the "frozen dragon of the north." The creature is similar to the largest pterosaurs known, yet key characteristics gleaned from a cache of bones unearthed in Canada show that it is actually part of a new genus and species.
