Open enrollment 2022 opens Oct. 25 through Nov. 8

USC benefits-eligible employees have a chance to re-enroll in benefits during this year's open enrollment sign-up period, which begins Oct. 25 and runs through Nov. 8. Some of this year's updates include an updated procedure in Workday and a new tobacco cessation program.

New treatment plan drops hospitalizations, deaths of some transplant recipients with COVID-19

Liver and kidney transplant recipients have a higher risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes because of the medication they have to take. But a new Keck Medicine of USC study shows that a new protocol to monitor and care for these transplant recipients during the height of the surge resulted in significantly improved outcomes.

Lizards can regrow severed tails, making them the closest relative to humans that can regenerate a lost appendage. But the replacement structure is an imperfect cartilage tube. Now, for the first time, a USC-led study describes how stem cells can help lizards regenerate better tails.
