Now that the CDC has authorized the use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for adolescents ages 12 and up, a Keck School expert answers parents' questions about vaccinating their kids. Find out how to sign up your child to be vaccinated through Keck Medicine. Meanwhile, USC students made connections with older adults who had tech barriers. And a new center was founded to study the changing family, just as the pandemic changed how families work and interact with others.

Keck Medicine of USC recently joined organizations across the country in celebrating National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week, as well as Mother's Day. In addition to announcing the 2021 Nurses Week Awards, administrators delivered roses to patients who visited certain locations for treatment.

Targeted therapies linked to improved outcomes for advanced-stage breast cancer patients

A new study analyzes the link between targeted therapies and outcomes among Medicare patients newly diagnosed with breast cancer, finding targeted therapies used in advanced-stage cancers improved survival rates, whereas patients with early-stage cancers had little improvement in survival rates from targeted drugs.
