Shapiro to be interim dean of Keck School starting July 1Steven Shapiro will serve as interim dean of the Keck School of Medicine of USC beginning July 1, USC President Carol L. Folt announced in a memo. Shapiro currently serves as USC's senior vice president for health affairs, and will assume this additional leadership role during the national search for a permanent dean. |

Department of Preventive Medicine gets a new nameThe Department of Preventive Medicine will become the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC on July 1. The name change signals a new era for the department, which has undergone tremendous growth and expansion in its areas of research since its founding in 1977. |
